Cancer. It’s the big “C” that nobody likes to talk about. Everyone at some point has been touched by this hideous disease that is cancer! My family is no different! Sadly, we have lost several family members to cancer and it needs to stop!
I now know the same amount of people who die from cancer now survive, which is great but it’s not yet enough!
My parents, especially my mum is very passionate about raising money to try to help stop this terrible disease from tearing apart more families.
Summer Lights is the new Macmillan campaign. It’s aimed to celebrate the people who light up your life. Every single penny that is raised at a Summer Lights event is put towards helping those who are affected by cancer and giving them the Macmillan support they really need!
On the 25th June my mum opened up her garden to her friends to come along to a Summer Lights – Vintage Afternoon Tea. My mum also changed the garage into a pop-up shop which was a lot of work but so worth it!
Lots of people came along for a spot of tea and cake and a little bit of shopping! Overall my mum helped raise £210 for the Summer Lights for Macmillan.
Have you been to a Summer Lights event or held one yourself?
